Thomson Reuters Practical Law recently asked S-RM to contribute to a new cyber security ‘jargon buster’.

This helpful glossary is aimed at supporting lawyers dealing with cyber incidents or the complex reports produced post-incident. However, we believe there’s helpful information within the jargon buster for anyone tasked with understanding cyber security – and really, that’s everyone.

If you want to know your Botnet from your DDos this is the guide for you. The cyber security jargon buster is organised in alphabetical order within four categories:

  • Day-to-day operations
  • Cyber incidents
  • Attacker techniques and modus operandi
  • Forensic investigation-related terms.
